cranberry relish

Thanksgiving 2009!

(makes ~ 2 c)

ingredients

  • 12 oz cranberries, fresh or frozen
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 1/4 c dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 c water
  • 1/4 c dry white wine
  • 1 t orange zest, finely grated
  • 1/8 t ground cinnamon
  • 2 pinches ground cloves
  • 2 pinches ground allspice

    technique

  • put all ingredients in med saucepan
  • stir til combined
  • cook over med heat til sauce boils
  • reduce heat to a low simmer
  • cook til berries break down & liquid thickens,~ 30-35 min (stir often)
  • serve warm OR refrigerate up to 3 days
